BEAUFORT WOMAN’S CLUB AWARDS GRANTS TO 14 LOCAL GROUPS


The Beaufort Woman’s Club concluded its 2020-21 year by awarding grants totaling $8,000 to 14 Carteret County organizations:

 

  • $2,000 to Carteret Community College to fund two $1,000 scholarships for students who are single parents.

  • $750 to the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastal Plain to support the academic success programs at Beaufort Elementary and the Beaufort Teen Center.

  • $750 to the Bridge Downeast to purchase multimedia equipment to expand educational and community programs for children and adults.

  • $750 to Family Promise to offer day and weekend classes that help participants develop life skills.

  • $750 to Loaves and Fishes Backpack Blessings for food bags to supplement family resources on weekends.

  • $375 to the Broad Street Clinic for hosting the NC Baptist Men’s Dental Bus for patients with critical illnesses.

  • $375 for Crystal Coast Scouting Friends Troop 247 to purchase shelters/kitchen supplies for three camps.

  • $375 for Hand 2 Hand to provide immediate emergency assistance to economically challenged Down East families.

  • $375 for Hope Mission to support the construction of a patio for its Women’s Shelter.

  • $375 for the Ladies Outreach Committee of the Food Pantry for North River Community to help stock shelves.

  • $375 for the Queen Street Heritage Foundation to help create a community center for families with critical needs.

  • $375 for Carteret County Partnership for Children to help supply its diaper bank.

  • $188 for Carteret Local Food Network to purchase reusable, insulated produce bags for its Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.

  • $188 for The MirIAM drug and alcohol rehabilitation center to provide desks and chairs for its virtual learning center.

The Beaufort Woman’s Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through fundraising and volunteer service.
