Board Members
Karen Willis
President
Karen is an Honorary Lifetime Member. She joined the club in 1984 and has served over 37 years in various roles, including president five terms, over the course of her club career.. She has a deep love and commitment to the club and her community.
She and her husband, Mac, owned and operated Willis Insurance Agency for over 40 years before their retirement in 2020. Community and service is important to them and they continue to support many local charities. Karen serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Plain, is a member of the Beaufort Garden Club, and President of the Ann St United Methodist Women.
Her greatest joy comes from time spent with family and friends. She has four grown children, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Nancy Dube
Co-Vice President
A club member since 2020, Nancy Dube retired to the Crystal Coast following a 35-year career in Human
Resources Management. She was previously self-employed. Nancy was President and Chair of many
organizations in Massachusetts including: The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, Business
Network International, and Center for Women and Enterprise.
Nancy and her husband, William, reside in Newport, NC. They have two grown children living back in the Boston area. As our Vice-President, Nancy leverages her leadership and people skills to increase the club’s visibility and reputation. Nancy recommends joining committees and getting involved in the community.
Lori spent most of her working life in surgical devices sales and retired last year. She is active in her church, volunteers in the community and serves on the Board of Directors for several organizations. She enjoys cooking and entertaining, playing tennis and spending time with friends and family. Her busy life includes husband, Phil, daughter, Reagan, and cutest dog ever, Carter.

I have been a member of the Beaufort Woman’s Club since 2008. I was co-President from 2012-2014 with Karen Willis and currently the secretary of the club. For several years I was the chair of our Community Calendar fundraiser.
Recently I retired from a successful 31 year career with First Citizens Bank . My husband Peter and I live in Beaufort with our dog Zeus and two cats Gracie and Frankie. We love to spend time with our friends and family especially our granddaughter Emma ! I love to walk, ride my bike, read, crochet and give back to this wonderful town I am so blessed to be living in.
Shana Bates
Treasurer
A club member since 2018, Shana is the Banking Center Manager for United Bank. She is a graduate of ECU with a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising and a minor in business administration. Shana’s career includes 10 years in retail sales management and 16 years in banking.
Shana is a native of Beaufort who lived in Greenville and Raleigh, but moved back to her hometown in 2007 to be near family. She and her husband, Brian, have two children, Brynna and Ryan. Shana enjoys volunteering, boating, and watching her children play sports.
