Generous Giving

Giving – “Making a donation; to put (something) into the possession or safekeeping of another.”

  • “Giving makes us feel happy.

  • Giving is good for our health. A wide range of research has linked different forms of generosity to better health, even among the sick and elderly

  • Giving promotes cooperation and social connection. When you give, you’re more likely to get back.

  • Giving evokes gratitude. Whether you’re on the giving or receiving end of a gift, that gift can elicit feelings of gratitude—it can be a way of expressing gratitude or instilling gratitude in the recipient.

As we approach the holidays, I would like to remind each of you that by giving to others we are fulfilling our mission as members of the Beaufort Woman’s Club. We strive to make a positive difference in the community by supporting preservation, revitalization, education and the economically depressed.

At each meeting we give generously. For some it may be volunteering their time, for others it may be making things, or giving cash donations as we are able. I remind you that this is our obligation as a member of BWC. Please think of others and be especially generous this year.

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you!

At your service,

Nancy
