August 2023
Welcome,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Beaufort Woman’s Club which was established in 1921. It is my hope to carry on the legacy by sustaining existing members and inviting new women to join us! Your new slate of officers are:
Nancy Dube, President
Naomi Chappell, 1st VP
Robin Eiler, 2nd VP
Louise Claney, Secretary
Dot Crumly and Kathy Leffler, Co-Treasurers
Your Executive Board has met many times over the Summer and set-up a fun and impactful year. Among our topics are Kickoff, Bunko, Halloween festivities, Holiday Party, Speakers, Government, Woman’s Health, Higher Education, High School Arts, the Environment, Big Rock, Election of Officers, and our end-of-year celebration. Please plan to attend as many activities as possible.
We have a brand-new website which I invite you to peruse. Thank you Shynar Johnson, our Webmaster, and Sharon Barfield, our new Communications Chair for the revamp. We will also have an active Facebook page (thank you Joy Godwin), and an active Instagram Account (thank you Shari Phelps).
Each of our events will include food and fun! Thank you, Victoria Sullivan, for agreeing to manage Hospitality. Sharon Birmingham will continue to lead our inspirational prayer.
The Bunko event is moving to an earlier time and will take place next month, so get yourselves ready! Thank you, Karen Hardesty, for taking on this always popular and exciting fundraiser.
Also, a big thanks to Myra Thomas for taking charge of the High School Arts Competition and a huge thanks to Marilyn Shuping for spearheading this for several years.
Our former Prom project will be changed to a Spring Festival. Thank you, Sharon Barfield, and Phyllis Frye James, for agreeing to lead this event.
Please help us kickoff the year with our Welcome Back event on 9/14/2023 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 215 Ann Street, Beaufort. This will be the site of our meetings this year, unless otherwise specified.
Bring a friend, invite a past member, and “show up.” Your Beaufort Woman’s Club is counting on you to shape our community! If you require transportation, please reach out to one of your VP’s for assistance.
I look forward to serving you.
Regards,
Nancy Dube
