Welcome to this New Year! I pray that 2024 brings us health, faith, sisterhood, and love!
My 2023 ended far differently than planned. As you may know, we were blessed with our first grandchild, Ellie June. Our expectations for the Christmas holidays were to return to Massachusetts and see our children and meet and greet our new granddaughter.
Well as life has it, my husband, Bill, came down with pneumonia and fluid in his lungs. After three days in CCU at Carteret General Hospital, our trip was abruptly cancelled. My husband is making a complete recovery, for which we are blessed. Our hope is to meet this pretty little girl later in January!
My personal life aside, our club has grown. We had a wonderful holiday party at Karen Willis’ home. We donated SO MANY slipper socks to our local nursing homes. Oh, what fun our Elves had tying ribbons and candy canes to put a smile on their faces. Thank you to Karen Willis and Karen Harding for delivery services too.
Finally, our 2024 Directory is ready! Check it out online. We will have a limited number of print copies available at the January meeting at a cost of $5.00. A big thanks to Shynar Johnson for blessing us with her creative talents.
Events for the year are in the planning stages. If you are not involved in one of the committees, please contact Naomi Chappell or Robyn Eiler. We expect to learn a lot, continue our commitment to service, and have lots of fun doing it. It is not too late to bring a friend or get involved. Let us hear how YOU want to serve Carteret County!
